Stacked Brick Sculpture Update #6

ENVD 3115 students have constructed the sixth composition in their Stacked Brick Sculpture assignment, in the Gemmill Engineering, Math & Physics Library. This structure was built on Thursday, October 18. Their design is an enclosed space with two pillars. "The general idea was to start out with all the bricks together and as you move counterclockwise around the perimeter the bricks are spaced out further from each other, and towards the later part of the back wall the bricks also turn outward providing a textured look to the whole thing," one group member said.

"I think it was a great way to introduce the library and Materials Collection to students, and it also made groups tackle the sometimes tremendous problem of group scheduling. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it. " another said.
