University Libraries awards Seed Grants for librarian-researcher collaborations
The University Libraries is pleased to announce award recipients for the first round of Seed Grants to support collaborative research projects between librarians and University of Colorado Boulder academic departments, institutes and centers.
Collectively, the winning teams will receive $40,000 ($10,000 each) for six- or 12-month projects that will leverage the library's resources and expertise to explore research questions of significant interest to CU Boulder researchers. Funding is supported by IMLS Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian (LB21) grant RE-254915-OLS-23.
“Librarians, as faculty researchers, are indispensable to research projects due to their deep expertise in information systems,” said Jamie Wittenberg, University Libraries assistant dean for research and innovation strategies and a co-PI of the Seed Grant program. “Their mastery extends far beyond conducting literature reviews and locating resources; they are the expert in knowledge production and data management, which is crucial to the research process. We are excited to see the outcomes of these collaborative projects.”
Projects start this month and conclude in June or December 2025.
