Got a presentation coming up? Before you start building slides or hitting record, take advantage of these five library resources that can help you look more polished and confident.

1. High quality images or charts

Improve your presentation’s visuals by using library databases offering easy downloading and citations.

  • ARTstor contains over one million high-quality images, useful not only for the fine arts but as a general image resource.
  • Statista aggregates statistics and studies from a variety of sources offering charts and infographics.
  • Our maps and GIS databases such as LandScan, PolicyMap, Social Explorer and more offer downloadable maps on a variety of scientific and social topics.

Having trouble finding what you need? Librarians are on hand to answer your questions virtually or in-person at the Ask a Librarian desk in Norlin Library or via scheduled research consultations.

4. Content and organization

The Writing Center provides one-on-one writing feedback and advice. Writing consultants will meet with you at any stage of the process and help you with your organization, argument, citations and more. The Writing Center has drop-in hours in Norlin Library, RM E-111, Monday through Friday or you can schedule an appointment.

5. Recorded presentations 

The Multimedia Equipment Lending Library (MELL) and Video Creation Station (VCS) in Norlin Library offer all the equipment you need to create high quality video or audio presentations. Book MELL items or the VCS in advance to ensure they are available when you need them.
