7 non-book items you can check out from the library
From the “boneyard” to the Multimedia Equipment Lending Library (MELL), the University Libraries lend out more than just books. We offer all sorts of items to help you with your studies while you are in the library and outside of it.
Chargers, calculators, headphones and more
Forgot your charger, headphones or other gear? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Ask at a library service desk about phone chargers, laptop chargers, calculators, headphones and other tech or study accessories. All items circulate for four hours.
Not finding what you need? Make a request for new tech items.
Multimedia Equipment Lending Library
Through our Multimedia Equipment Lending Library (MELL), CU Boulder students, staff and faculty may borrow a variety of multimedia equipment, including cameras, audio equipment, tripods, lights and smartphone accessories. Equipment can be checked out for seven days, and you can borrow up to five items at once. We recommend reserving equipment so it is available when you need it!
Hotspots
Our hotspots provide a portable Wi-Fi connection anywhere on the North American T-Mobile 5G and 4G networks. Current CU Boulder students, staff and faculty who have an educational need for a Wi-Fi hotspot can apply to check one out to your library account for a semester, including the summer session, with the possibility of renewal.
iClickers
Students can check out iClickers for a semester at a time at the Norlin Library East Service Desk. iClickers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Colorado State Park passes
Get outside by borrowing a Colorado State Parks pass. They circulate for one week and allow entry of one vehicle. Check out a pass from the Norlin East Service Desk.
Artificial skeleton & bones
Of special interest to students in the Integrated Physiology program, we have a variety of artificial bones available for checkout from our "Boneyard". Stop by the Norlin East service desk to check out and return.
Lockers
Need to store books and other personal belongings? CU Boulder faculty, staff and students can borrow a locker for up to six months. The lockers are located near the main stairwell on the first floor and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the Norlin East Desk during service desk hours to borrow one.
