Libraries Locker Policy

University Libraries lockers are designated to support CU Boulder faculty, staff and students, and other researchers in their academic work. Lockers are available to Tier 1 and Tier 2 patrons with a valid CU Boulder Buff OneCard or current library card.

  • Only locks checked out from the Norlin East Desk may be used on lockers. Any non-approved lock will be removed and the contents of the locker put in lost and found or disposed of.
  • Locks may be checked out at the Norlin East Desk during service desk hours.
  • Lockers that are without a lock will be zip tied. If a locker you have checked out is zip tied, please visit the Norlin East Desk for assistance.
  • Patrons must have a current and unblocked library account to check out a lock.
  • Lock combination numbers are pre-set and cannot be changed by patrons.
  • Loss or damage to locks or lockers may result in fines or fees as posted in Libraries policies.
  • Lockers cannot be reserved in advance.
  • Perishable, dangerous, prohibited, or illegal items cannot be stored in lockers.
  • Cleaning schedule: All lockers will be opened and cleaned out every Winter Break and Maymester. Exact dates will be posted ahead of time. Failure to return locks before these dates will result in the lock being removed, checked back in, and any contents placed in lost and found or disposed of.
  • After each regular cleaning, patrons may return to check out a lock again if available. Availability is not guaranteed.
  • Tier 1 patrons may check out a locker for up to 6 months. Due date is determined by the cleaning schedule.
  • Tier 2 patrons may check out a locker for up to 48 hours. Due date is determined by the cleaning schedule.
  • Failure to comply with the Libraries locker policy may result in denial of future use. Infractions will be reported to Libraries Security and/or CUPD.
  • The libraries are not responsible for personal property left in lockers.
