Gemmill Library collections return to their permanent home

The Leonard H. Gemmill Engineering, Math, & Physics Library’s physical collections—including computer science, engineering, mathematics and physics—will soon return to their permanent home in the newly renovated library, located in the Math Building. These collections are being held in closed stacks in Norlin Library while Gemmill Library is being updated.

The relocation of over 55,000 books will begin Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, and is expected to be completed by Jan. 8, 2026. During this period, the collections will be in transit and temporarily unavailable for direct access. If faculty, students or staff need materials urgently, please use Prospector, a service which provides access to items from partner libraries.

Starting Jan. 8, 2026, Gemmill’s collections will be available by request through the Library Catalog.

This move is part of Gemmill Library’s renovation, improving and updating the library to create a modern, welcoming and community-centered space.
