The University Libraries are here to support you during finals week. Explore this guide for information on extended hours, study spaces, academic support, technology checkout and resources for your downtime.
Hours
Norlin Library is open extended hours from 7 a.m. – 12 a.m. starting Friday, May 2, 2025 to Tuesday, May 6, 2025. On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Norlin is open 7 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
All other campus libraries are open regular hours. Visit our hours page to view the full list.
Study spaces
Across our four library locations, you'll find a variety of study spots to suit a range of needs and moods. All libraries have open study areas as well as group study rooms that can be reserved or may be available first-come, first-serve.

By location
Our locations on campus provide a variety of spaces and services to support learning and research. The Gemmill Engineering, Math & Physics Library is closed for renovations.

The largest library on campus, Norlin has a wide-variety of study areas, from silent to collaborative. Need a break? Norlin also has nap pods, a mindfulness room and the Laughing Goat Coffeehouse.
Classrooms open for finals: E260 and E113 are open for study in Norlin.

The William M. White Business Library has large tables and study rooms for collaboration. For those who prefer more solo study, check out the study carrels and dedicated silent study area near the Business stacks.

Located in the Benson Earth Sciences building, the Earth Sciences & Map Library has two levels of study area. The top-level contains big tables and a computer lab. The lower-level is silent study.

The Howard B. Waltz Music Library located in the Imig Music building is a bright space with soft seating and study rooms.
Academic support
We have a variety of ways we can support your scholarship, from guides to in-person help.

The Ask a Librarian Desk is located in Norlin on the 2nd floor and available via email or IM. We're here to help find last-minute resources to finish off that research project and citation resources.

Find the information you need for your research—whether by subject or for a specific course.

We offer personal research consultations to help you refine and focus research topics, develop successful search strategies and identify appropriate sources for academic research projects and assignments.

Forget your textbook at home? Course reserves—both physical and electronic—have textbooks, readings, streaming film and more being taught in courses. Find out if your classes have materials on reserve.

The CU Boulder Writing Center is an academic support service that offers writers from all academic disciplines and skill levels the opportunity to work one-on-one with professionally trained writing consultants.

Printers are available in most University Libraries study areas. Find out where they are located and how to print on the OIT website.

Need tech support? Buff Techs has a secondary office located in the Norlin Commons red study room, just to the right of the front entrance. This location provides technical support/repairs, and is open late for last-minute issues. See their available hours and book an appointment.

Forgot your charger, headphones or other gear? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Ask at a service desk about phone chargers, laptop chargers, calculators and headphones.

Resources for your downtime
Beyond the textbooks and peer-reviewed journals, the University Libraries offer a comprehensive collection of resources for your downtime—from popular media to resources for your wellness, you are sure to find something suited to your interests.

Fiction, nonfiction, biographies, cookbooks, comics and so much more!

Stream thousands of popular and independent films, documentaries, performances, educational and training videos through are various streaming services.

Get outside by borrowing a Colorado State Parks pass. They circulate for one week and allow entry of one vehicle. Check out a pass from the Norlin East Service Desk.

The Mindfulness Room (E103A) on the first floor of Norlin Library near the east entrance provides a place to reflect between classes and comes stocked with cushions, prayer rugs and books.
