Popular reading
Our Popular Reading Collection is composed of a wide variety of genres including biographies, memoirs, Young Adult (YA), comics, fantasy, horror/thriller, popular fiction and cookbooks.
Literary fiction
Beyond the Popular Reading section, you can find physical copies or ebooks of American, English and foreign language literature in our general collections. Search for a specific title via the Library Catalog or browse the Norlin Library 3C level stacks. Our Popular Reading guide provides a breakdown by call number.
Comics and graphic novels
The databases Underground and Independent Comics, Comix, and Graphic Novels and World of Archie Comics provide digital access to publications and other supporting materials. Find physical and ebook copies of popular comic titles for DC, Marvel, Dark Horse and more through the Library Catalog or browse the PN6700 – 6790 section of the Norlin Library 3C level stacks. Children & Young Adult Collection
This collection includes major award-winning titles including books with racial and ethnic diversity, diverse gender and sexuality, disabilities or exceptionalities, science and math books.
Ebooks and audiobooks
OverDrive has a variety of popular reading titles available through your browser or Libby app. For those who already have the Libby app, search for ‘University of Colorado Boulder’ under Your Libraries and sign in with your IdentiKey.

Kanopy
Kanopy offers over 8,500 streaming films, documentaries, educational and training videos from an array of producers and distributors including BBC Active and Criterion Collection/Janus films.
Swank Digital Campus
Swank is a streaming service featuring films, independent films and documentaries. For off-campus access use the VPN.
DocuSeek
Docuseek has independent, documentary, and social issues films. It also includes a selection of international feature films.
Met Opera on Demand
Online access to 550 full-length performances from the Metropolitan Opera including interviews with artists, composers, conductors and others associated with an individual production.
Get outside
Colorado gardening and native plant books
Kickstart your planting by checking out Colorado-specific gardening and native plant guides including several books on container gardening.
Colorado State Parks passes
Get outside by borrowing a Colorado State Parks pass. They circulate for one week and allow entry of one vehicle. Check out a pass from the Norlin East Service Desk.
Atlases and trail guides
Looking for new places to explore? The Earth Sciences & Map Library located in the Benson Earth Sciences building has a number of road atlases and travel maps as well as recreational guide books—including hiking, trails, biking, public lands and parks—from Colorado and beyond available for check out. Search for a region via the Library Catalog or if browsing is more your speed, visit the section for the geographic area you are interested in visiting on the lower-level of the Earth Sciences & Map Library.
Birds of the World
Birds are real and now you can identify them all after your next hike. The Birds of the World database can help you identify and learn more about birds from Colorado and worldwide. To find a full list of birds native to Colorado, navigate to the ‘Species’ tab in the upper right-hand corner and filter by state.
