Borrowing from Other Libraries
If you’re unable to find particular books or other materials through CU’s library catalog, it’s possible to borrow materials from other libraries through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Prospector services.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
More details about our interlibrary loan service, including available formats, how to request, ILL delivery and renewals, are available via our Interlibrary Loan at CU Boulder page. Place requests using our ILLiad software. First time users of ILLiad will be asked for some registration information.
Colorado Law affiliates
The Law Library offers Interlibrary Loan services and document delivery services for Colorado Law affiliates.
Prospector
Patrons interested in borrowing from other libraries from partnering Colorado and Wyoming libraries can search the Prospector catalog. Learn more about the Prospector service.

- Students, staff and faculty at CU Boulder (must be currently enrolled or employed)
- Other affiliates (visiting scholars, etc.) may also be eligible for ILL services according to our borrowing privileges by patron type. Contact cu-ill@colorado.edu for more information.
Lending to other libraries
We provide interlibrary loan services to libraries and other institutions. Individuals should contact their nearest library to request from us. Interlibrary loan services are also offered by the Law Library.
Other libraries may send requests electronically or directly through our ILLiad lending portal. First time lending partners should request login credentials. (More information about lending policies for other libraries)
